June 26, 2009 Dear Parents & Athletes, Each year Tri-Valley Athletics' one BIG event is the attendance of the National Pole Vault Summit, held in Reno. This year we are working hard to get a head start on the planning of this event. The National Pole Vault Summit is an annual developmental clinic and competition, exclusively for pole vaulters of all skill levels. Summit participants are divided into categories for activities, lectures, and drills: beginners, high school, college, masters, and elite with special sessions for coaches and parents. This structure provides a “learn by doing” environment that is overseen by members of the National Men’s and Women’s Pole Vault Development staff, including the finest coaches from around the globe. This year’s Summit will be held January 29th and 30th. We will arrive in Reno Thursday January 28th and return Sunday January 31st. Room rates will be similar to last year (around $95.00 for a quad room) plus Summit fees of estimated $75.00. This will be our tenth year attending this event. We obviously believe as parents and coaches that going to the Summit is a fantastic opportunity, and we encourage all our vaulters and their parents to attend. We are attempting to get a headcount of those Tri-Valley Athletics members that are interested in attending the 2010 Summit. We can then be better prepared to register early and secure rooms as a sub-group of the Summit. NOTE: we are working with the Nugget and Summit management and the Nugget Security department to resolve the issues of "youth congregation locales", so as to increase the enjoyment of the Summit for our young adult attendees.
